Progress Report

For AUS220 i have been working really hard to complete all of the assignments that have been given to us. I am happy with the progress of each assignment and for the first time since being at SAE i have had no stress in relation to the workload, for week 7 anyway. I will be giving a quick update on each thing i have been working on and how i have been contributing.

LIVE For the live intensive we have secured both Civique for the opening role and Magic Is Happening for the main role. In about 4 hours our group will be having a meeting with both bands, and Chelsea Williams who is a film student and will be recording the bands on the night. For this assignment i have done most of the planning and organizing but i enjoy this, my teammates will be there on the night and we will work well as a team.

POST PRODUCTION For the post production intensive we have chosen to do a scene from Scott Pilgrim Vs The World. We have just completed all of the voice acting, foley and music and this friday we will be inserting the effects and finalising the music. Next wednesday we will all sit down and mix and automate everything together as a team. For this assignment i have voiced one of the characters and created some of the foley. Because i have been a key member in the Live Intensive i have taken more of a backseat role on this assignment to let the people who are passionate about Post take control.

MUSIC Even though we are still 2 weeks away from starting our last intensive we as a group have already started working on the music assignment. We have written the structure of the chorus and are working on the versus now. After Enoch has finished writing the midi piano file he will give this to me to come up with orchestral riffs to add in so we are prepared for recording on the first week of our music intensive.

PODCAST We have just finished our last interview and we have A LOT of stuff to work with. We are in the process of writing a script and will start recording bianca to construct the storyline. And editing it all together. We have been catching up every week to update everyone on what has been done for the week. I will be going out into the field are recording some Foley for the podcast as soon as we have a script and know what we are after.

CIU SPEECH We have our speech on the last week of this Trimester and i have already read the lecture and have started splitting up the different things we would like to talk about so each person can make a 10 minute presentation.

CIU ASSIGNMENT. For the CIU assignment me and my team have decided that we will be doing a performance art piece. We have taken a classically aesthetic piece of classical music and turned it into something jarring and harsh on the ears. We want to have animation behind our performance so we attended the crewing network night last tight to pitch the idea to a potential animator, we didn't have that great of a response so i will be playing around with my knowledge of animation and motion graphics to come up with a visual element.
