What I Have Learnt So Far In Live Sound

I was interested in doing this Live Intensive because Live sound is an area where i have been working professionally outside of uni for a while and with no real training or guidance other than what i read on the internet.
I was eager to listen and try to pick up on things that i have been doing wrong in my own gigs.
Some of those things include:
Monitors - It has come to my attention the importance of correctly EQing monitors on stage. Previously i have just assumed the all the EQing has been done before and is already built into the system, but i think it is important for me to double check that they are don't to a standard i am happy with.
Monitor mixes - previously i have just mixed lead vocals, a snare and a kick drum into everyone's Foldbacks and during soundcheck i have asked them if they need anything else and assumed they would tell me if they needed anything else. But i think i will take more time in ensuring the artist is happy with their mix so they are comfortable and i give them the foundations for a great performance.
Setting up- I have had no problem with setting up before a gig but after these classes i have realized there is a more methodical way to setup to ensure everything is working and that everything can be easily troubleshooted if a fault is found.
I am eager to get feedback from this intensive to improve myself more in a field that i enjoy doing.
