After we printed the final version of our Everlong, Sound-a-like project for Studio Production I was happy with the track our team created. I can confidently say that i have learned a lot from this project like using the desk, critical listening, using outboard gear, organising sessions without guidance and working fairly in a team. Although our end product wasn't completely accurate compared to the original Foo Fighters version, i think we delivered the best we could considering the circumstances.

One of the biggest downfalls of our group was that we expected the guitar to be easier to recreate that it turned out to be. We expected to find the distorted guitar tone and record that along with a clean guitar strum. It was only after the recording we realised that there are many layered guitar tones in the song and due to the short amount of time we were given, we were unable to go back and record the parts we needed. Closer critical listening to the guitars would have prevented this.

I am very happy with the way the drums turned out. We critically listened to the song and made many adjustments to ensure we were replicating the drums accurately. An example of this was the cymbals had a clear stereo image so we set up the overheads in a way that split the two sides of the kit evenly.

We also found it hard to replicate the vocals of Dave Grohl (not surprising). We tried many different singing techniques and layering to get that unique sound but our vocalist wasn't quite hitting the notes in the chorus. But i am happy with the effects and processing we did on the vocals, we nailed the breathy, delayed effect that they used in the original.

I think our group worked really well together. We all communicated and gave input throughout the whole process.although If i was to do this project again with this group i might have stepped up as leader a little more because i feel our group lacked guidance and direction at time.
